Join the PAG

ACARN is looking for new voices at the table.

Join the Program Advisory Group!

We are inviting members from across the network to join our Program Advisory Group. This is a chance to share your perspective and help shape the direction of research, extension, and collaboration in B.C.’s agricultural sector.

The group brings together people working in different parts of the system, including producers, agri‑tech, consulting, government, and Indigenous communities to share what’s needed right now and what’s coming next.

Interested in getting involved?

Contact the Network Manager at info@bcacarn.ca with a brief description of your background, expertise, and interest!

Progam Advisory Group

The Program Advisory Group (PAG) provides high-level insights into ACARN’s programming priorities and ensures alignment with stakeholder needs. This group reflects diverse perspectives, including producers, industry partners, government representatives, Indigenous knowledge keepers, and academic researchers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Offer strategic input on program priorities and emerging opportunities.
  • Identify beneficial programs and collaborations that advance ACARN’s mission.
  • Provide guidance on aligning programming with stakeholder needs.
  • Support knowledge mobilization and outreach efforts by advising on effective approaches.
  • Participate in PAG meetings and discussions.

Membership and Selection:

  • Membership is determined through an open call for applications every two years.
  • Interested ACARN members submit an application outlining their expertise and interest.
  • Applications are reviewed by the Steering Committee and Network Manager to ensure diversity and alignment with ACARN priorities.
  • The PAG must include at least one representative from each of ACARN’s stakeholder groups (academic, government, industry, Indigenous, and producer communities).
  • Members serve a two-year term, with the option to renew based on continued interest and availability.
  • Members may resign at any time by sending an email to the Network Manager and the ACARN Steering Committee Chair.

Meetings

The Program Advisory Group (PAG) meets at least annually to review ACARN’s programming priorities and provide strategic input. Meetings may be held virtually or in person, depending on member availability. The Network Manager coordinates meeting logistics, including scheduling, agenda development, and distribution of materials.

Meeting materials will include:

  • Agenda and discussion topics.
  • Background documents relevant to program priorities.

Members may be invited to participate in additional consultations or working groups as needed.
