Climate Mitigation Research Scan
Are you conducting research on climate change mitigation in agriculture at a BC academic institution? We want to hear from you!
.
The BC Agricultural Climate Research Network (ACARN), in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, is conducting a province-wide scan of research that supports climate change mitigation in agriculture and aquaculture.
This initiative will build a comprehensive picture of recent, current, and planned projects that contribute to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, enhancing carbon sequestration, and improving productivity across British Columbia’s agri-food systems.
The research scan will focus on beneficial management practices (BMPs) and is designed to:
- Highlight emerging knowledge to support producers in making informed, climate-smart decisions
- Shape future research priorities aligned with sector needs
- Inform potential funding opportunities through programs such as CleanBC
.
The Ministry may have funding available to support planned or ongoing research. To be considered, projects submitted through this form must include a clear climate change mitigation component.*
.
*You may refer to the Ministry’s BMP reference spreadsheet for examples of priority BMPs. Projects that explore novel solutions or aquaculture-related BMPs are also encouraged, even if they are not listed in the spreadsheet.
The survey will remain open until October 31.
